Kerrie Harris is...
'THE AVERAGE WOMAN'
Can an average Australian really get elected to Federal Parliament?
This year I am attempting to get elected to the Federal Senate as a 100% true independent, taking no-donations and by running a no-cost campaign!

What am I doing?
I'm a high school teacher from Cooma in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. I am the mother of three daughters and the wife of a mechanic.
I am a really average Australian - I have a mortgage, I understand what it is like to struggle (I was a young single mother), and I want my children and the thousands of young people I have been lucky enough to teach over the years to have hope for the future.
I love my country and I feel lucky to be an Australian. I believe everyday Australians are done with traditional politics and with traditional politicians. I believe things can be done differently and that I can be the change that many Australians want to see. I also believe you should not have to be a millionaire - or be part of a multi-million-dollar campaign, to get elected.
I think the big money we see in politics is 'dodgy'. Even though I know running a no-cost campaign and being a 100% independent is not the easy way to go to get elected, being 100% transparent is worth it. I am being the change I want to see.
The only support I need to do this is yours...
The power is in your hands...
If you would like to see me get elected to the Senate, I am not seeking donations.
I simply would like you to TELL FIVE PEOPLE about me. They could be your family, friends or co-workers, or share something about me on your socials.

People and political parties spend hundreds of thousands of dollars (sometimes millions) to get elected. I have always aspired to be a politician, but was told my pockets were not 'deep enough' to ever run for election. I resent that there are financial barriers to running for elected office in our country – one of the greatest democracies in the world. I reject this idea, and you should too!
Running a no-cost campaign means I can maintain my complete independence and crush the idea that only someone from a 'certain background' can run for elected office.
I am going to be relying on the motivation and determination of everyday Australians – people like you, to support me and to prove that things can be done differently.
I call myself an 'average woman,' but one thing that is not average is the real power everyday Australians like you have to change the way things are done. Use that power to elect someone who has heart and who better represents you.

Politics made simple for Australians who are short on time, not usually that interested, but who would like to be more empowered to use their vote!
